Done with the Basics?  Ready for a new challenge?

We offer both Intermediate & Advanced Training classes to continue the training process once your dog has completed basic training.  The continuation of training will help you and your dog advance in many aspects. 

Maybe you aspire to do Animal Assisted Therapy work or maybe you want to enter a competition or trial, or just maybe you want the smartest dog in the world! 

Either way, we can help you with our intermediate and advanced training classes.  Our goal is to make training fun and exciting for you and your dog! 

WHERE: Locations vary.  Call for the location closest to you.

WHO: Owner’s 18 years of age or older with dogs that are 5 months or older are welcome.  Prerequisite: completion of basic obedience class.

REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required. You must call 954.288.1021 to pre-register.

COST: The cost of a 6 week class is $190.  Payment can be made by check or in cash on the first day of class.  Payment will guarantee you a reserved spot in class.  Once payment is made it is non-refundable.

INTERMEDIATE TRAINING YOUR DOG WILL LEARN:

  • Review of Basic Obedience Cues (sit, down, stay, come, wait)
  • Stand for exam (from a sit or down position)
  • Social walking (walking on a loose lead without pulling)
  • Recall (coming when called to sit in front of handler)
  • Desensitizing to common distractions
  • Stuff a Dog or Focus exercise (used to extend the control with        your dog under greeting distraction and with heeling)
  • Heel exercise (used to teach your dog to stay with you                 regardless of where you go to walk or the distraction around           you)
  • Release (dog is free to do what it wants)
  • Hand signals (sit, down, stay, come)
  • Leave it (dog ignores object, person or another animal)
  • Drop it

ADVANCED TRAINING YOUR DOG WILL LEARN:

  • Review of Basic Obedience Cues (sit, down, stay, come, wait)
  • Stand for exam (from a sit or down position)
  • Recall (coming when called to sit in front of handler)
  • Heel exercise (used to teach your dog to stay with you          regardless of where you go to walk or the distraction around       you)
  • Release (dog is free to do what it wants)
  • Review of hand signals (sit, down, stay, come)
  • Desensitizing to uncommon distractions
  • Stay (with distractions, from a distance, with medical equipment/objects)
  • Social walking (walking on a loose lead no matter what the distraction is)
  • Recall (drop on recall, coming when called to sit in front of             handler)
  • Advanced level heeling exercises (figure 8’s, about turns,               weaving, dog to dog greetings, tight circles, turns, halts, halts        with sitting, U turns)
  • Sit (sit to be greeted, pet, distractions)
  • Down (with lots of distractions)
  • Stay (with distractions, with handler not facing dog, with people/medical equipment, objects approaching)
  • Paws up (on an object)
  • Finish (dog finishes around handler into heel position)
  • Swing (dog finishes on the side of handler into heel position)





Intermediate & Advanced Training
